Overview
Development of packaging for Essenza's “Sun Sport” line of sunscreens and tanning products. The project consisted of transforming a premium brand concept into an industrial format ready for production. The goal was to fuse Essenza's characteristic elegance with the resistance and dynamism demanded by the sports sun care market, ensuring a flawless technical result from the first sketch to the final print.
Challenge
The main challenge was technical adaptation. It was not only a matter of creating an attractive aesthetic, but also of ensuring the integrity of the design in an industrial environment:
Complex Hierarchy: Organizing technical data, product benefits, and brand elements on curved and limited surfaces.
Industrial Precision: Configuring die lines and bleeds that allowed no margin for error in the assembly of the packaging.
Brand Fidelity: Maintaining the consistency of Essenza's color on materials that react differently to ink (opaque plastics vs. laminates).
Approach
To ensure the success of the project, a “design for manufacturing” workflow was applied:
Visual Strategy: A high-visibility color palette and typographic hierarchy were selected to allow users to identify the SPF and key benefits at a glance, even in bright outdoor conditions.
File Engineering: High-resolution artwork was meticulously defined, managing specific color profiles for professional printing processes (Offset/Flexography).
Production Control: Strict technical specifications were established for finishes, ensuring that legal and technical texts were legible and complied with current regulations, without sacrificing the visual cleanliness of the design.
